Gary studied architecture at the University of California, Berkeley and graduated in 1981. After working for an architectural firm in Oakland doing residential and remodel work, he jumped into commercial architecture and development when he accepted a position with Longs Drugs.
While at Longs, Gary obtained his California Architect's license in June, 1992. He is a focused, detail oriented, and conscientious architect and is very passionate about architectural design, development and construction.
Gary's career at Longs spanned 26 years. He was promoted to a leadership position, Director of Store Design, a position he held for 10 years. During his tenure at Longs, the company grew from 162 to 532 stores. During this period of expansion, Gary obtained broad experience, including: retail store planning, branding, development, architecture, remodels, entitlements, site planning, and interior and exterior design.
In 2009 Longs was acquired by CVS Pharmacy. After doing several speculative and pro bono projects and feeling strongly about his ability to provide superior service to the industry, he launched The Veasy Group.
